So here’s the deal; We’ve been working through a lot of concepts, some new, some old, some "challenging".
Are you listening and saying, "I hope he’s getting this."
Are you both talking about what we talk about in class?
Are you TAKING ACTION to enhance the quality of your relationship?
Do this exercise:
1. Take 15 minutes, thinking and writing the answer to this question: What are the 4 things I appreciate most about my spouse? Write them down. Now beginning with the husband, share those 4 things. Wives, let him finish!
Now wives, its your turn. Share those 4 things with your husband. Husbands, appreciate the honesty going on here. These are things she still finds compelling about you.
2. Now re-read 1 Peter 3:1-7: With this verse as a background, Admit to your spouse 1 trait you’d love to see the Lord change in you.
3. Together, set 2 major goals for your marriage. Begin with 2, but they must be big goals, and goals upon which you both agree a valuable to you as a couple.
4. Give the list created in #1 above to your spouse. Now read it before going to work each morning, and before going to bed. Remember this is what I would consider a "strength" since its something your spouse finds attractive. Are there ways you can enhance or build upon this strength?
